Hot Air Balloon

This render was inspired by the FAI World Hot Air Balloon Championship, which took place in Murska Sobota in September 2022. The event brought together around 105 competition teams from 32 countries, along with around 40 fiesta balloons, making it the largest aviation event in Slovenia that year.

I wanted to create something lighter and more playful than some of my heavier projects, and hot air balloons felt like the right subject for that. Their shape is simple but instantly recognizable, and the combination of bold color and open sky gives the render a very different mood from my other work.

The focus here was less on realism and more on clarity of form and color. I kept the scene bright and clean, with strong contrast between the black panels and rainbow stripes, so the balloon would feel graphic, cheerful, and easy to read at a glance.
